I'm making homemade pizza for ds's halloween party and I need a really good homemade pizza sauce recipe. Anyone have one that they just love and tastes as good or better than takeout? Thanks!!

I have one! Here it is:

1 can tomato paste (I like to use a flavored one, but it's good using plain, too)
½ C water
1 tsp salt
1 tsp oregano
¼ tsp garlic powder
1/8 tsp pepper

Mix well. Let stand 1 hour before using.

How many pizza's will this cover? How long do you think you could store it in the fridge for?

It covers a large pizza hut size pizza....actually when my DH was in college he got the pan from a Pizza Hut. I LOVE that pan!

I would think that you could leave the sauce in the fridge a week or so, but we make the one batch and that's enough for dinner that night, so I never have any left....

If you wanna cheat, just buy a regular plain pizza sauce, add basil, garlic powder and olive oil to the sauce. Stir well. Yummy!

Have you ever tried to freeze this? I would love to have a good homemade pizza sauce but I'm a batch and freeze cooker. I wonder how this would do in the freezer.
