Garlic Toast on a Budget

This is a fun way to use up old bread that is in danger of going stale (or, pick up a cheap loaf at your bakery outlet or Aldi). Have your child use cookie cutters to create fun shapes. Then, spread with a mixture of butter and garlic powder and stick in the oven for 10-15 minutes at 350 degrees. Yum!

We do it with left over hot dog or hamburger buns so they do not get tossed out.

Those are so cute in shapes.Kim your daughter is growing up so fast! Thanks for posting it.

We've done this before and it's a big hit with the kids..

We also use hotdog buns and hamburger buns too. I always make my own garlic bread, much cheaper and easier to do.

You can also make this an art-sy project by cutting into shapes(like her daisy one)then adding a drop or 2 of food coloring to the butter

Also works if you put the bread in the toaster then spread the mixture over it. And you can add a bit of oregano too.
