There is no rule stating that anyone must do a search to make sure they are not double posting an offer. It happens, and it is probably not the nicest thing to insinuate that someone is doing it on purpose. There is no proof of that, and it isn't fair to the other person. Quite honestly, even as a mod, that would make me nervous about posting in this forum myself..and this is an open, public forum, meaning ANYONE is welcome to post. No one, including me(!), should have to worry over whether or not they are allowed to be there. We DO value your postings, jillibean...a LOT, as we value EVERYONE's!
Also, as far as it getting bumped down....there are a LOT of members on this board...it isn't going to be a constant flow JUST through the samples and freebies section. As a matter of fact, it is the moderators' jobs to make sure that ALL forums are posted on often! And, there is no way for someone who is not a moderator to be able to track our different members to see if they are indeed posting as several members instead of just one! I can say that the moderators DO stay on top of this type of thing...so if it IS happening, it wouldn't happen but once or twice before it was caught and stopped.
And, while I agree this is not the subject this thread is on, as far as a lot of new members, Kim IS on a tour right now promoting her book and this very site. That would stand to reason more people would be coming to check things out and sign up to join us! I think that is AWESOME!

I haven't ever had a problem with simply doing a search and seeing if a freebie has been posted or not. You don't just enter "baby wipe", you'd enter "Huggies" and your results will be considerably more easy to work with.

Sure, reposts happen. Reposts when people make a bit of an effort and do a search first limits them considerably. I know this as it's been a solid policy on other freebie boards and has worked very well.

I dislike reposts because I end up putting effort into signing up for offers I've already signed up for in the past. I say thanks in the posts that I use because not only do I think it's nice to say but I also leave a mark in that thread that tells me that I've already done that one. This is especially handy when a freebie is bumped up to the first page after a month or so because it's still active.

I honestly dislike reposts. It's confusing. I appreciate the little extra effort it takes to do a quick search.
