Ally Week is next week (Ally Week is organized by GLSEN and encourages people to be allies against anti-LGBT name-calling, bullying and harassment in schools)...are you kids participating/signing the pledge? Are their schools sponsoring it?

NO and the school isn't doing anything. My kids are 4th grade and below, there is no need for them discuss this in school.

AT home I have taught my kids that families come in all ways and we accept people for who they are, not the color of thier skin, or who they chose to marry. Its not important to me right now that they learn about this.

I haven't heard anything about it. I'm sure I'd "LET" my kids if they wanted, but somehow I don't think that's one of their priorities right now. They're more interested in getting good grades and participating in their extracurricular events. I know our HS does have a gay/lesbian group, but neither of my kids have ever participated in it.

Never heard of it, my kids are in K and 1st grade, way too young for anything like that.

I think most of us have kids that are too young to understand anything like this. Our SCHOOL AGED KIDS are still thinking members of the opposite sex are just friends.

We already teach our boys to treat everyone with the same kindness and respect with which they want to be treated.

M'ija was one of the people responsible for starting a gay-straight alliance at her high school, so I'm sure she participated if they had Ally Day when she was in school.
