Can parents come to the room parties they have throughout the year?

Here it's ok for the parents of kindergarteners to visit the class during the parties, but after that they only want the home room parents in there.

Can parents come to the room parties they have throughout the year?

When my kids were younger and had room parties of any sort, yes, all parents were encouraged to come. Most of the time, the calendar of room parties and activities where parents could attend was sent out to the parents early in the year so folks could plan, which was great.

Here it's ok for the parents of kindergarteners to visit the class during the parties, but after that they only want the home room parents in there.

I'm not sure what you mean...?

Each class has at least one home room parent that organizes the party. After kindergarten they only want the parents who helped organize the party to visit in the class during the party. I don't really understand their logic there because it's always nice to have extra helping hands.

Okay...gotcha. I agree with you, why can't any parents that want to attend...come to the party?! That's really too bad.

At the schools we've had, the room parent gets help organizing the party from the other parents that want to be involved - so there could be 10 parents involved with games, food, activities etc We've always all been encouraged to attend, and even parents that weren't directly involved, were encouraged to attend.

Here, everyone is welcome as long as they have parties.

Here, they can't STOP a parent from being on campus,, even to 'observe' their child's class. EVEN when that parent has a previous 'sex offense' grrrr

In DD's 2's class - they want only 1 volunteer and not all parents. Each teacher is different - this teacher mentioned that she didn't want 12 parents being there, which only distracts the kids. Last year, in the toddler class we were all invited.

The moment I step in DD's class - she picks up her bag and is ready to go. She also will not leave me and go - she will sit on my lap. Inspite of all this, I want to go, but this teacher does not want us to come.
