There's probley already a thread on this, but I have no idea how to look. Anyway, school stared for my ds and dd. He started first grade and she started kindergarten and I have been crying off and on all morning! I have to more at home(ages 2 and 9 months). I am considering homeschooling, but my dh is against the idea. It's just hard to trust your child to a stranger for 8 hours a day. I am used to being around them all day long(some days are longer then others) but I love being a part of every minute of their lives and now there is this whole part of thier lives that unless they tell me about, I won't really know. Maybe I'm too nosy! I think I might do better if the kindergarten were half day, but it's not. I know my son loved kindergatren last year, and I was able to volenteer in his class. I hope to do the same this year. I'm starting to feel better now, I just needed a breather. (only 7.5 hrs til I see them again!) Good luck to all the rest who have kids starting school and just aren't quite ready!

My baby starts on the Sept. 6. I'm having all of those feelings your are too. Big hugs. I'll bet you feel better today when your kids run in, give you big hugs and tell you how cool school is. Please remind me of this in Septemeber.

How was their day? How was YOUR day? My Dd starts first grade on Friday and i know I'll miss her, but I know how much she loves school, so that helps a little...plus I have DS home for 1 more year with me. Hope you made it through the rest of the day without many tears!!!

Thanks everyone! I feel better today. Yes, I did survive and was able to clean my whole house! I had to keep moving yesterday so I wouldn't look at the clock every 5 min. They both loveed school yesterday and were really excited to go back today! Good luck to everyone else who is sending their children off to school soon!

I feel your pain. My oldest started 1st grade this week. I was very blue. She has been with me every day for the last 6 1/2 years. I was okay with kindergarten because it was only half day. You always hear to enjoy these years because it goes so fast. It does with a blink of an eye. We will have to treasure each and every stage. Support from other moms going through this definitely helps!!!
