Tell me that I am not the only one holding a count down until school starts!!!! My kids need to get back to school!!!! If they watch one more cartoon or play one more video game I am going to scream!!! Of course I do go back to work pretty much full time when school starts, but at least I won't have to worry about what they are doing when I am at work!!! 9 days to go!!!!!

Yes, i am counting down with you!!!! I think i might spend that first whole day just window shopping in peace and quiet, take a long walk with the dog or just sit and read a really good book while taking a bubble bath. These will be the slowest 9 days of my life i think?? lol.

ya know, this is the first year when it seems to be coming too fast. I agree with the cartoon thing though...it has been a pain to get them to get outside lately.

Maybe it's because I have one more leaving for school....I don't know. Summer could be a little longer...

My dh teaches at a year round school. He's been back to school for a month now! So, I've got one kid out of the house (dh!), 2 to go. I was okay until about 2 weeks ago. I'm ready for my kids to go back. It's alot of work keeping 2 pre-teens busy and not bored. I need some peace. However, I'm not quite ready for waking up at 5:45 am, buses, lunches, fundraisers, PTO... Plus, I'm a girl that thrives off of routines. Summertime is so laid back I get off my household and exercise routines, and start freaking out.

Part of me (a big part) does not want them to go back at all. I really do love having them home and I am going to miss them terribly. But the other part (little part), is looking forward to it ALOT! This is the first year that both of my boys will be in school. I'm not totally ready for this huge change. The thing I'm looking most forward to is at 8:11 on September 6th (first day) sitting down in the silence and having the first uninterupted, complete thought that I have had in 7 years. My kids just have so many unrealted questions that they want me to answer per day... per minute. I have always been a person that loves the quiet. I love to sit in the morning with my cup of coffee and stare blankly into space for awhile before my brain is ready to engage and face the day. If I don't get that time by myself, my eyes start to twirl . I try to smile as I'm drinking my coffee and trying to catch up on a post or two, but never can get through more than a sentence before one or the other of my boys comes over and wants to tell me something that seems so important to them, but that something is always the same thing they just told me a few minutes before and probably yesterday at the same time or it's something hilarious that spongebob just did and I'm just not quite ready for. I'll want them back after my coffee is gone and I'm awake. I am hurting at the thought of them leaving me for the whole day, 5 days per week. But for that first half an hour all by myself....it will be priceless.

Now if I could only find a way to get my dh not to come home for lunch every single day of my life at noon!!!!!

freedom.....so close, yet so far away.
