Hello everyone, I need help...
My daughter Nastassia(17) is planning a trip w/her "Creative Writing" class to London next year. She is looking for ways to make xtra $$ to pay for her trip. She is good a writing, any suggestions as to how and where she could get some freelance writing job over the net? Any other ideas are welcome....she also is doing some tutoring...

babysitting? contact the local newspapers and see if she can write any articles for them and sell them.

I don't know about freelance jobs as a writer. But other things she can do are selling old clothes and toys on ebay, yard sale for items that are either too big to do on ebay or didn't sell.

Dog walking. Dog washing. If you have any younger kids or younger neighbors who'd like to be her helper, they can load up a wagon with a hose and some doggy shampoos, brushes, etc. and go to neighbor's houses offering to bathe and groom each weekend.

Housekeeping or odds and ends around neighbor's homes. Or maybe with your help (finding the appropriate place) she can advertise her services to an eldery community where she'll pick up their chores for $7-8 an hour or something.

Babysitting was suggested already. That's a good one.

Or she can get a part-timer where all of the teenagers get jobs - Publix (my first paying job age 16 as a cashier), a dept. store, or at the mall.

I would think it would be harder to sell her writing as they are more looking for interns who are around that age.

My suggestion would be a part time job - either babysitting, grocery store, target, cut grass / do other chores, (any theme parks nearby? They usually need kids this time of year as all the college kids are back in school), waitress/hostess in resturant, maybe a job at the library since she likes to write.

Maybe she could go to her school counselor or career center as they usually have some job listings where they are looking for students.

I like the dog washing idea with younger kids.
