Summer is fast approaching. The days are getting longer. Right now the sun doesn't go down until 7:30 or so.
What time are you going to let the kiddies go to sleep at? I am undecided since they are going to be up all day with me and I enjoy my alone time at night. I might aim for 10 if they don't drive me crazy during the day.

My kids are 10 and 13...although, we've never been a family of early bedtimes. It just never worked with my kids. So, during the school year, my 10 year old is typically in bed by 9PM and my 13 year old usually, but 10PM.

During the summer...we're definately lax about it. My younger son is usually in bed by 10PM and my older son stays up late reading in bed. It's just not really a big deal in our house.

Mon-Fri, during the summer, my kids have swim practice in the mornings...so they're up by 9AM because of that. On the weekends they sleep in a little more.

My kids are 7 and under. Right now, the oldest goes to bed at 8:00 and the others at 7:30. Once school is over for the year, we'll probably let them stay up 30 minutes to an hour longer. That way they still get their sleep and DH & I get our alone time as well.

I'm really laid back about bedtime during the summer. However, I usually do have dd in bed before 9 p.m.

We have no certain bedtime in the summer......we are a licensed day care home and the last children leave between 5 and 5:30.......so my kids do not even get to "relax" in their own home until after that. Once the daycare closes, we can "let our hair down" and not have to share our favorite toys, video games (that the daycare kids are not allowed to play, so my kids have to wait until they all leave to play). They sleep in too, so it is a win-win for everyone.

When schools out and it's summer, they're in bed when it's dark out. That's the rule. WHen it's dark it's bedtime. So that's around 8:30-9ish.

I have littles. They are 3 & almost 5. They are have regular bedtime hour of 7:30pm. TV's off at 8pm. During the summer the bedtime hour will continue to be the same.

They go to bed between 9:30 and 10 pm during the summer. They want to go to band camp again this year and that starts at 8 am. They have track practice in the evening when it cools down, that wears them out. They come home, shower, eat and are knocked out shortly thereafter.

Right now their bedtime is 7:30pm or earlier (6:30p) when they don't nap. I will probable keep them close to that bedtime routine for the most part during the summer. I, too, like my downtime in the evenning.
