Is it gone altogether? I see some of the other kid/age related boards are now subcategories under Family Matters, but I'm not seeing School Age Kids. Anyone know?

? So there isn't a specific board anymore for school age kids...it's just included in 'family matters'? Weird.

Sorry. It was my suggestion. I noticed that people were already posting about their kids in the Family Matters forum, so I suggestion merging the two forums. Since this is the second post asking where the School Age forum went, I'm thinking my idea wasn't a very good one.

No, not at all... I think it just takes a little getting used to. We tried to condense/combine some of the forums that had overlap with another topic.

I'm disappointed as well...I always thought that forum was pretty active. It was nice not to have to siphon through the other posts to get to solutions for older children, not just babies. There are so many other forums (other sites) exclusively for very young children and not so many with that division for older children. I can see why it might get lumped into family matters, but then so should all the other categories - babies/toddlers/special needs. Why just one category?

I do see your point about if you merge one, you should merge them all. Before we did the recent rearranging, I was helping to mod both the Family Matters forum and the School Age kids forum. I was noticing that there was starting to be some overlapping between these two forums (mostly with people posting about older kids under Family Matters). I didn't notice people posting about babies/toddlers/special needs under Family Matters as those topics do seem to be a little more specific. When we start seeing overlapping, that's when we consider merging forums.

As we get used to the new arrangement, I think merging the forums will give us a good opportunity to explore topics that effect the entire family instead of trying to divide topics out to fit school aged children or the adult family members.
