Yes! It's happening right now! Ds will be going into 1st grade which means from 9-3:15 every day. Plus he wants to now take the bus, so he'll be going on the bus after school and won't get home until 4:15 or so.

I am still taking him to school in the morning, though I love seeing him off and giving him that last kiss In addition, I *am* excited about having some time to really get involved in a project. Before when I picked him up, I'd have to leave by 2:35 in order to pick him up by 3:15. So a good chunk of my afternoon was gone. Basically it was eat my lunch and go pick him up.

I'm trying to make lemonaide out of lemons! I'm going to miss my peep!

I'm glad I'm not the only one crying and hanging onto them when they're off to school. JK I feel like I haven't made the most of our time at home yet, and the end of summer is creeping up and we won't do as much as we planned before school starts. Is everyone else as insecure about what they're doing as I am? I want them to have fun w/ me and remember their young childhood and that I was fun. I'm going a little off track here. lol My youngest (so far heehee) is starting 3 yr. preschool 2 days a week. How sad. And dd is starting all day kindergarten.

Oh my, yes. Our oldest is entering college and our youngest is going to be a high school junior. It's shocking to see that empty nest on the horizon, although we welcome it with open arms.

I had a jolt when my Ds12 graduated from sixth grade last month. Gulp. He moves up to the junior high this year.

My two Ds9 will be in fourth grade. They move up to the school Ds12 just left.

That means, for the first time since 2000, I will have no kids at our only elementary school. Wow.
