My precious DD leaves for Girl Scout camp this afternoon.

The anxiety hit me last night. What if something happens to her? What if she needs me? I hink I'm having a harder time letting her go than she is. She is excited! I'm going to cry, I know I will. My baby! My little girl is going to be out of my arms for 4 whole days. I don't know if I can stand it.

Yes, I'm crazy. I know.

I don't think you're crazy, I would be so worried. I'm sure she will have a wonderful time!!

DD is 6, soon to be 7 and in second grade. She's always the youngest because she started school a year early. At least, it seems that way.

There were two girls on the bus who were crying and didn't want to go. DD wasn't one of them, however, she sat on the same seat as one of the girls and I saw the look on DD's face. At the time, I thought DD was going to cry, too. Now I think she was thinking, "Ack, I want to sit next to someone fun!"

It has been a whole day since she left. She's had dinner, breakfast and lunch. It is funny that I think of her at every meal time - plus when I first wake up and when I fall asleep. Does it ever stop?

I'm hoping she has managed to go potty. She is terribly afraid of 'big hole potties' (outhouses). However, she knew that was the situation when she left and she assured me she would deal with it. Maybe she isn't peeing until she goes swimming in the lake -

So far, no one has called. I keep checking my cellphone to see if there are any messages. Nothing. ~sigh~

That means she is having fun, right?

They probably keep her so busy that she only misses you at night, unless her roommates keep her talking until she dozes off.... Is she allowed a cell phone to call you at night? It's like a rite of passage. I don't blame you- I couldn't imagine sending my son.

But...

He went on a cruise with daddy when he was 5 and despite being very attached to me, daddy reported he didn't say he missed me once. It's probably harder on you than her.

Try to concentrate on how nice it is to have time to yourself and be carefree!!!

DD asked that I take care of her Webkinz while she was away, so of course, I found myself spending over an hour playing little kid video games, too -
