I do not like them at all, they are gross and I'm not even a germ crazy person. I try to always have water with us so the only time I will let them is if we don't have a drink, aren't heading home any time soon and they are really thristy. I hound it into them to keep their mouths off!

I'm not thrilled about them, but I let my dd drink out of them if she's desperately thirsty (and keep her mouth off that spout). At my dd's school, the kids aren't allowed to bring water bottles and sip on them throught the day, so if she's thirsty she has to drink out of the fountain.

i only let them do it if they are dying of thirst. other than that, they aren't allowed to. but then again, we always have drinks in our possession--water bottles and what not...so they don't ever need to.

Yes, I do!! As long as he doesn't put his mouth on it I'm OK with it. And obviously if it looked dirty, then no I wouldn't, but that is no different than not wanting them to step in something ikky or touch something really dirty.
