How many outfits do you buy for the beginning of the school year?

I usually buy the boys 5 or so outfits each and one pair of sneakers each. Most of the time they wear their old clothes after the first couple of days. They also get new undies and socks. They would be embarrassed if they seen me type the undies and socks part.

During the year they get stuff when needed.

I try to get each boy about five pairs of pants and/or jeans and on the shirts it just depends on what i find and what the cost is, at least five shirts. Right now I am really lucky that my five and six year old are the same sizes so they share clothes. Yes for sure always some new socks and underwear. And than anything else they need during the school year. Right now their shoes are in good shape since they got them about a month or so before school got out and they have lived in sandals this summer. But I know that those shoes will not make it thru the entire year.

We actually don't get much for a few weeks after school starts. I get them 1 or 2 outfits to start out with, but it gets cold her quickly and all the GOOD sales are after BTS starts. So we wait till around the end of Sept and get the BTS items that go on sale.

My boys have to wear uniforms so I get them each 5 pairs of dress pants 5 long sleeve dress shirts, 5 short sleeve dress shirts, 2 ties, 1 sweater vest, 1 pullover sweater, 1 pair of brown dress shoes and 1 pair of sneakers.

Zero! They just wear what they have.

I buy stuff as he needs it, and his birthday is right around the time school starts so, if he needs anything, he'll get it then!! He will most likely need some blue jeans, socks & maybe a new pair of gym shoes.

They get 1 or 2 outfits to start the year sometimes something new just feels good! and if they need tennis shoes I will get them like this year dd needs new ones as her other pair I ended up tossing cause they ended up with 2 holes!

Tho I just saw how many clothes my kids have and they will not get new unless the clothes are too small!

My DD's have to wear uniforms, I get them 5 bottoms and 5 tops and new shoes.
DS mostly buys his own clothes.

I actually have already started buying some outfits, Kohl's a few weeks ago had some AWESOME deals on the clearence rack for my DS so I picked up a couple of long sleeve and a couple of short sleeve tshirts for 1.20-2.00 each and they also had jeans on sale at that time for $6.00 each, so I got 4 pairs of them. I also get socks for my DS, he goes through these.
My DD will get a few things and then she usually waits for great clearence sales and then get a couple of extra. Otherwise they just wear what they have.
