Default Do you ever wish your older child took the nap instead?

My two year old is very pleasant and plays well independently most of the time. I really hate to put her down for a nap because she is the one that is behaving. She probably behaves well because she DOES nap.

I'm certain my five year old needs the nap more!! I gave up on trying naps because she'll be up late (9:30-10) if she takes a nap. She has been testing her limitations lately.

Have you ever tried having your older dd do quiet time (going into her room and reading some books, coloring, etc.) in lieu of a nap? I know some people have success with this.

Unfortunately, I did not have success! My dd is 9 and I wish she would still nap. During summer vacation, it would be nice to know I could possibly have one hour during the day of peace and quiet!

Her quiet time is time out. She went in there for time out and has been playing on her computer for an hour. It has been a nice mental break.
