Does your child's elementary school allow folders and notebooks with characters on it or do they just want plain old red, blue, green, etc? DD wants to get the Hannah or Camp Rock folders/notebooks, but she can't take them to school. I remember having Trapper Keepers with characters or animals on them.

They just want the certai colors (they have certain colors for certain subjects)

I don't think so. I'm not allowed to purchase my dd's school supplies -- I'm forced to hand a heavy-duty check over to the teacher (a sore subject for me) and she's supposed to buy all the supplies so everyone gets the exact same thing. The teachers keep everything basic -- no character stuff.

They are allowed one character folder, for first grade it was their take home folder. I am assume it will be the same for second. The colored folders were listed seperatly! Last years was Captain Jack!

They recommend you buy the pre-packaged school supplies from there supplier. They were $40 and will be on the kids desk the 1st day of school.

I was told if we bought certain items, the kids would not nessarly get to use them. Somehow they distribute things and you do not nessarly get your own.

That would be a sore subject for me, too. I understand why they have these rules about sending a check or sharing everything but I don't like it.

They can have character backpacks as long as it is nothing violent. Other than that everything else has to be plain.

nope no character folders and such they have to have specific colors but can have characters on there lunch boxes and school bags.

Gosh my kids could always use whatever they wanted for folders and such. Now they do to a charter school where I just pay a small fee and I don't have to send any school supplies. I have never heard of not being able to use character folders!

My kids can have whatever type of items that they want (we follow a list, but it is a general list).

They offer us the option to buy a school supply kit..............but it is $$$$$$$VERY$$$$$$$$$$$PRICEY$$$$$$$
