For school we usually try to find good deals. I would say younger ds finds sneakers for $20-$25. Older ds is already a size 8 in mens. He gets sneakers for $30-$40. In the summer we get cheap sneakers from Target and Walmart that cost about $10.

My younger ones usually get them from WalMart for less then $15. My 15 yr old usually wants ones that are between $40 and $60. My ten yr old did want Tony Hawk ones last time and they were around $25. I save the more expensive ones for when they get old enough to care.

I get all my kids shoes at stride rite, they range from $25-50 a pair depending and I always buy them when they are B1G1 50% off sale for all my kids. Like today, I just bought 4 pairs for fall and it was $100 (after sale price) so that averages out to $25 a pair.

My kids have wide and extra wide feet so Stride Rite is our best bet.

This is a sore subject with me, because if I could find them cheaper I'd buy them! But it seems no matter what store we go to, and no matter what size ds is at that time they never have any boys shoes in his size there.

A few months ago we needed some tennis shoes for ds and first did the regular runs: Payless, Target, Walmart, Kohls, Marshalls. No boys shoes in his size at all - he took a 12/13 then. Girls? Tons and tons. Every type imaginable.

I specifically took my dh as well, so he can understand why sometimes we have to buy expensive shoes. Because it is so hard to find boys shoes! If they have them, they are usually not what we want - no logos, no graphics, no light ups, just a plain pair of shoes!

We ended up going a specialty shoe place, and we thought we were in heaven! They had TWO pairs that would fit that we could choose from! Dh now understands why I end up at Stride Rite with $50 shoes. And ds always needs them when no sale is going on!

Oh I guess I should answer the question. I think we paid $38 for his last pair of tennis shoes- Sketchers. After the multiple stores, dh gladly handed over the credit card!

Right around $20-25. Right now they are just so rough on shoes, plus they outgrow them so quickly too. I am not looking forward to when they hit jr. high and high school, that is when it is gonna break the bank buying just everyday shoes for three boys. Not including if they play any sorts.

Today starts our tax-free holiday weekend, so I took my dd to Wal-Mart to buy her some new shoes for school. I bought her one pair for $9 and one pair for $11 (both on clearance), so I spent a grand total of $20 (No tax!) on two pairs of shoes for her.

It should get easier to find basic shoes for him once he gets older. My dd's feet are finally at the size were I no longer have to resort to buying her Strawberry Shortcake, Dora, or Barbie shoes.
