I go twice a month for each kid. I bring them Mcdonalds or something else. We don't eat out a lot anymore and this is their special treat and they love it when I go.

Our schools didn't want us to bring in fast food.

i never heard of that, you gals are lucky! are schools are like forts. you must ring bell, sign in and be there for a reason. the kids can't leave for lunch either. they got really strict after 9/11.

The school I went to growing up had a designated week for parents to eat with the students.

Did it for the first time today! Spent the morning volunteering in the classroom and finished it off with lunch. We had a blast.

I haven't read any of the other replys.
My children attend a private school with NO cafeteria, they have a nice covered picnic area and when the weather is bad(which is not often since we live in Floirda) then they eat in the classroom. Parents are allowed to come once per year, on a special day and they eat in the courtyard on blankets, like a picnic.

crap i accidently hit the often one, this year my daughter got into a charter school, and at the orientation it was a huge plus to come in and have breakfast with your kids! I really really would like to go surprise her with a yummy lunch sometime however my 3 other children tagging along probably would cause alot of rukus my 1yr old atleast I just sent a note back to the teacher that I could volunteer once a month on Wed. I need to get a babysitter anyways so I will make it a point to have lunch on those days too!!YEAH
