I'm referring to things that companies, groups, or individuals donate to the school to give to the children to keep.

My dd has only gotten one thing that I can think of. A group (can't remember who) donated dictionaries to all of the children in 3rd grade. I love this as our old dictionary was on it's last legs.

The lions club came to school yesterday and gave all the 3rd graders dictionaries. The 3rd graders thought it was great!!! (I work in 3rd grade and have a 3rd grader)

The Lions Club donates dictionaries for our 3rd graders, too. The only other freebie I can remember is when one of the kids' dads came into their health class to talk about dental care and he gave them all free toothbrushes.

Our school does not allow freebies from businesses (the dad was an exception and I honestly don't think the principal knew about it) because once you allow one to come in it can be difficult to say no to others.
