Ok...I'm sitting here staring at a pile of 45 cards that I've made over the past three days for the "use up your scraps" challenge, and I plan to make some more (can you tell making cards is my favorite thing??). I haven't really made them to sell, but there's no way I'm going to use all of these cards. I have toyed with just selling them all in one large lot on eBay, but I haven't sold anything on there in awhile as their fees just keep going up. If I don't sell them on eBay, how would you suggest selling them?

If you want to see them...just go to the Challenges forum and look under the scrap challenge. Does anyone think they'd sell? What price? Individually or as one big lot? Split them up into smaller lots?

I tried EBay and couldn't get anyone to look at my stuff. I have been trading mine on the barter board here and on another list that I'm on. I have had a few people actually want to buy them. I have them on my webpage and I have a link in my e-mail. I think your cards are beautiful and that you should be able to sell them easily if you can find an audience....

I know you have said craigslist is not in your area, but you coudl put them on there to be MAILED to someone! Also, ask the lady that you have taggie blankets at her store. She might have an idea of where you could at least let people know you make them.

I think trading them on the bartering board here is a GREAT idea. I know you did some really cute cards just a little while ago with flip flops on them (at least I think that was you) that I remember thinking how much my dd would love them. And lots of the thank you notes I just saw listed would be really cute for her to do her thank you notes with. So if you decide to barter some let me know and I'll look over you "want" list. Thanks.

Do you have a local card shop that is individually owned??? They might just buy your stuff....it is worth a try. years ago, I made some Large print cards (long story, but had a grandfather that couldn't read normal cards)...and my Mom worked at a small local card shop....she got them to buy the cards.....(They ended up not selling very well....not a big market for that I guess...they weren't fancy....just had BIG LETTERS.)

Anyway, that is worth a try.....the worse they can say in NO...right??

And BTW your cards are absolutely AWESOME!!! Love them all!!

I know an interior designer who chose to stay home with her children and began graphic arts and created some cards and stationary.

She asked a local coffee house if she could keep a basket there to sell...and they allowed it!!! Maybe you could try that avenue!

This may be a wild idea, but I know there are several of us tha thave mentioned that we are making cards and have thought about or tried to sell them. I even believe someone else had suggested this to another member, but...

What if we came up with a website somewhere to sell them? We all put or stuff out there and attempt to sell them. I know a lot of work would go into it and there would be a lot of kinks to work out, but what do you think of that???

I kind of like the idea of us having a website. It would be a lot of work and we really would need a lot of honest people (not that I believe any of you are not...but you never know) It only costs like $5/month to have a website (and then you have to buy the domain name) I don't know a lot about this but I have been working on setting one up a little myself. I think it would be fun to do as a group (much more to offer). I don't have a ton of time right now, organizing my crop and I will be gone in August. But if everyone wants to hold off (maybe get somethings made) and I could try to do something come End of September or October. Going by what the ladies on ebay were saying (in the chat room) that summer is a slow selling time anyway) Once kids are back in school pages should start selling better and stuff. I already have the site layed out that I was going to do. I will see if I can email pics of it to whoever wants to see it (pm me with you email if you do).

Who would all be interested? If we had a handful...the fee would be extremely minimal! We would just have to split the cost of the domain name (which is not very much either - I think it is like less than $10) and then the $5 a month for the hosting the site. It would be worth a try I think. One person would have to keep it up and then just send an email to whoevers items are being ordered and they would have to send the items out then.
