I've been on a vellum kick lately, but it's expensive to use. Today I went to Hobby Lobby and found a pad of 50 sheets of 9x12 tracing paper in the artist's section for $3.59. All of their artist's papers are 30% off this week, so it was only $2.51. I'm not sure it's acid/lignin-free, but it's great to use on cards.

Also I found a site that sells a 25-pack of 8.5x11 pastel vellum for $6.00. It is acid/lignin-free, so it would work for scrapbooking as well. That's more than half off the 2/$1.00 Hobby Lobby price. Shipping is a little pricey if that's all you buy, but it's still a better deal. Here's the site:

Sweet! Thanks for the tip. I think my mom sells that Strathmore stuff. I'll have to see if she can get a good deal!

That being said, I wish we had a Hobby Lobby

The tracing paper is much thinner than regular, but I tried it tonight and it still gives the softening effect you want with vellum.

Yes, bonna, I did go to Martha's school of enabling - graduated with honors. I don't want to be in this addiction alone!

Black Friday is the Friday after Thanksgiving when all the great shopping deals happen.

Now for vellum - I always buy my vellum at the office supply store. You can get printable vellum there in pack of 50 or more much cheaper than any scrapbook store. I like to print a lot of my journaling of vellum so this works great. It is acid free too!!!

Oh my goodness! Black Friday is the greatest day of the year! It's better than your birthday! It's better than Christmas!.......It's better than sex!

It's the day after Thanksgiving and you get up super early and hit the stores and get outstanding deals! 2 years ago, I got a free Sirius satelite radio. I've piced up a ton of toys for a quarter to half the price! A car stereo for DH for $110, retail $300! Michaels even does Black Friday! Last year, I got 50% off my entire purchase!

It is, imho the greatest day ever!:happy dance:
