Have you ever sold your individual cards you have made?

I made a set of cards for a neighbor for Christmas, who gave them to her mom as a gift (she paid me for them!). Well, her mom is here for two days, and they just came over wanting to see "what I have in stock"!! I don't keep them "in stock" except for what I have from trades, but I hated to tell her no. I am wondering what you would charge for individual cards like that? Most of the cards aren't even MINE, as they are ones that people sent to ME when I sent them what I made!!! I told them that up front, too...and then I sent them home with a box to look through (after I pulled out my very favorites!). I just am not sure what to charge...and they will want envelopes to go with them, too. HELP!!!

I would say at least $1 per card. If you know you cost on the ones you made then it might be more. What did you charge for the set? Mabe you could divide that cost by the number of cards.

hope that helps.

I was thinking $4-5 too. I do not make cards or anything like that. But I would be willing to pay that much for hand made ones as oppose to ones you can pick up at Hallmark, Walmart, etc. Good for you. You could start to do that on the side for extra money.. NOT that you have the time, I'm sure.

There's a girl here who sells them on Craigslist for $3.50 each or 4 for $12.00, and let me say, from the pics she posted, I'd buy yours or anyone else's on here first! They're just not nearly as nice as I've seen many of you all do! Considering the price of pretty simple cards at Wal-Mart and everywhere else, I'd gladly pay at least $3.00 for a nice handmade card.

See, I was wondering about that! LOL I don't think mine are worth quite that much, but darnit, I do put a lot more work into them than Hallmark does!

I agree. There is an upscale art gallery in town that sells local artists' work. They charge $4-$5 for a handmade card. $3.50 is a deal for a nice card, especially handmade. Yours are very pretty, so that lady got a heck of a deal! That was very nice of you.

PS Still have your mom in my prayers.

When I was in Italy at cullinary school I took a TON of pictures there. When I got back to the USA I made a bunch of cards using the pictures. A lady that owned a local specialty store saw one and she ordered 30- so I made 30 and she paid me $2.00 for each card and sold them for $3.50.
