Ok...I was making birth announcements for my nephew who is supposed to arrive on Wednesday through induction and I didn't have enough envelopes (these are gifts for my little brother and SIL)...so I went through my card swap cards and snatched the plain white ones from there...and there were more than enough.

Why are we swapping plain white envelopes? Doesn't this make the shipping higher? I realize that sometimes some of us make envelopes for our cards to match...or stamp white envelopes to match our cards...but if we're just doing white envelopes, then we're simply swapping white envelopes. Is there a way to fix that? I know if someone sends an envelope, then they'd like to have an envelope in return...but is there a way we can note that we're sending envelopes and each of us will know how many envelopes to send with our swap? Am I making sense?

Totally to me, but of course, you know that already!! LOL so, since we are paying extra postage just to send white envelopes to everyone, when they are also just paying extra postage to send white envelopes out, too, we should all just keep our white envelopes, and use them with the cards we get...UNLESS the envelopes are made to match our cards? That right??? Works for me! My postage was almost double this time around....and the envelopes were a lot of that weight, which I never even thought about!

I was thinking the same thing! I have envelopes, so I don't need any with mine. Just added postage! I'm with y'all on that one!

I was going to post the same question about mailing envies! Especially since the swaps have grown to 12!

So what do y'all suggest that we suggest?? Mail an envelope only if it matches your card and make a note that you're mailing one so you get some back? Or if you want to mail an envelope that matches your card, just mail it out of the goodness of your heart as part of the card? I'm willing to mail matching ones just as a part of my card every now and then.

I was just going to ask the same questions. I like getting envelopes once and awhile specially when the match the card...
Let me know what you all want to do so I can post it with the new swaps...

I say unless you have a special sized card that you need to send a special sized envelope with, we just all are on our own for envelopes. If you ever decide you want to stamp one to match and mail it, that is totally your decision to do. That would certainly help me a ton not to have to go buy those and ship them!!

I TOTALLY agree with this! If it is an odd size card or stamped to match, but would be your choice to do.
