I would so love to make these... I have a couple of questions: the strap- is that in three pieces or two? and the sides of the box- are they supposed to overlap completely or do you just have a "seam" down the middle? I was trying to make the box last night... it would have been worth a laugh if you all could have seen me!

There will be a seam. They're not totally smooth on the sides. The strap...is three pieces. I put one strip up each side of the accent paper and then use another strip (11.5 inches x 1/2 inch) to make the handle. Then I either use a brad to take attention away from where they connect or I put the flowers on to totally cover it up altogether. Just use your imagination...once you get the box itself made, you can do it any way you wish...there are thousands of way to decorate it!! HTH

Thanks- do you glue all the strips and then use a brad or flower? I had so much fun last night making the cards. I haven't done anything crafty in ages, but you inspired me! It felt good to do something creative again.

I glue the strips first...a regular tape runner works well for me, but with a textured card stock or an extra smooth cardstock, you might need to use something like sticky strip or sticky dots.

Thanks! I was trying to do it with glue- what a mess!

I just bought 10 packages of paper at the $$ stire today and was trying to think of card ideas. I think I'll make a set of these for my son's teacher, too. And then start on them for others. I may have found my side business idea here. Thanks so much! PS can you tell me the link to e-bay auction so I can get a look at the bidding? I'm just curious as to how much they're worth to the public...

That;'s great! I just want to let you know, I'm not going to try to sell some on EBay or anything. I'm not like that. I am just interested in maybe selling some to people during the Christmas season around here. No one makes cards around here so I think it would go over big. Thanks so much for the inspiration! I will try to post a pic of mine when I make it!
