First of all I want to say that I've seen some great ideas from some very talented ladies here. This christmas we are giving gift cards to most of the kids. Any suggestions on what I could do with them instead of just handing out a little envelope with a gift card? TIA for your help

Here are some gift card holders I have made. I have even made some out of regular envelopes, but have not taken pictures.

I did see somewhere a glas case puzzle thingy. and you have to work out the puzzle to get the card or money.

What about just collecting lots of different sized boxes - shoe boxes, jewelry boxes, check boxes, etc. and put the card inside the littlist box, wrap it and put inside 1-2 bigger boxes so that they still have something to unwrap. That way they won't be able to tell what it is ahead of time either.

Some of the most beautiful cards I have ever seen have been created with wallpaper samples from old discarded books. I take the individual sample sheets and make tons of different cards using one sample page per card. After cutting it out of the book, trim up the edge nice and neat. Fold it into fourths, and you have an automatic beautiful background for your card. Begin creating from there. Each card can be chosen to match the occaision or the recipient as can the style of graphics and embellishments. But, your base is chosen first from something that was free and was going to be thrown out.

One big word of caution: Whatever you do while making these cards, DO NOT LICK YOUR FINGERS!!! These samples have a chemical on them that is an anti-mold agent and is poisonous.
