Which holds up better in the long run for cards, especially notecards, and other crafts that are handled a lot? I would have thought glue, but maybe double sided sticky tape? Opinions?

Double sided sticky tape, hands down. I started out scrapbooking almost 7 years ago with glue sticks and my photos have now started falling off of the pages. It's a little more expensive to use the photo splits, double sided tape, tape runner, etc., but worth it in the long run because it definitely does the job!

I LOVE both Tombow Mono Adhesive (double sided tape from a dispenser) and 2 way glue pen for my various paper crafts. When I need something extra strong, sticky tape is the way to go! A friend of mine used plain glue sticks and her pages fell apart shortly after a year. HTH

I gave up the glue stick ages ago, but I still use glue pens and bottled scrapbook glue and nothing has ever fallen apart with those. But when I tried to make that notecard box, I had a huge mess with the glue- edges sliding and still sticky days later. So I went and bought some double sided tape.... holy enchilada! that stuff is expensive. Might have to start hoarding my 40% off craft store coupons for that. Thanks for the input.

I purchase the Duck brand adhesive at Wal-Mart...it's "CK ok" which means it is endorsed by Creating Keepsakes. It's not found, however, in the scrapbooking aisle...it's in the office supplies. You get four tape runners in a box for around $8-$9. MUCH cheaper than a Tombow refill for $4-$5 and I like it just as well.

I think it is all personal preference. I tried some cheap "mono adhesive type" products, and they just didn't hold as well so I stick with Tombow. I made some cards to sell at a craft fair and they fell apart which was a little embarrassing. Glad I had my tape runner with me to fix them.

Love my Tombow 2-sided tape runner & my 2 way glue pen for smaller pieces.
