I had this box still sitting on the breakfast bar, from valentine's day. Nice box, so I take off the gold cording, could come in handy. The box is covered in red velvet so I proceed to disassemble it, I should be able to use that too right??

I don't scrap, but I sew a lot and I do this with EVERYTHING!! I have a really cute skirt that's trimmed with tulle, and nobody would guess that it's leftover tulle circles that you wrap party favors out of that I'd bought WAY back before my wedding!! I kept them around, in a box with random ribbons and lace clippings from who-knows-where, b/c I thought that they were perfectly usable for something. I just didn't know what until about 2 years later! lol I say, GOOD JOB!! THAT'S being thrifty!!

Nope you didn't go too far. I do the same thing. I have some awesome ribbon from my nephews birthday. I saw it in the wrapping paper garbage area and snatched it up! I have done that with many things!
