The morning after Halloween - I still got my butt out of bed and did it!

It was rough - the alarm went off at 12:15 AM then DS (3) woke up at 3 AM hacking and asking for medicine and mommy's hair . I finally went back to sleep around 3:45 AM and the alarm went off at 4:00 AM. My sinuses have been bugging me, so they continued to bug me the entire time. I hate post nasal drip! There were a few times I just wanted to let the ladies know - sorry, not feeling well, need to hurl and go home.

My body got a bit stiff when we were done, but I'm good now. Well, except for the raging sinus headache . I think I might have a sinus infection. Better get rid of it now versus on the 3-day!

I can't believe it is in 3 weeks.

Next week is another back-to-back 18 miles on Sat and 15 miles on Sun.

Oh, should have added it took us just under 7 hours with 6 potty/rehydration stops. On one of the stops the husband and daughter of our team captain showed up with donuts. I could only look at them - the thought of eating it made my sinuses drip even harder, lol.

LOL! You would be amazed at what you could do!!! Remember, I have trained to get to this point. My very first 6.5 mile walk kicked my a$$! I have learned to stretch before, during and after my walks as well as drink a TON of water, eat something salty, and I should be drinking electrolytes, but I don't do that.

The first one was so that DH could do a check-up on DSS - he has a habit of talking on the phone until wee hours of the morning (4-5 AM) and then sleeping the day away. This was so we could get him into bed at a decent hour. He is almost 18 and thinks it is his teenage right to do this every weekend night.

The second one at 4 AM was to wake my sorry butt up since I had to leave the house by 4:30 AM. We start promptly walking at 5 AM. Which I don't mind at all since I would like the rest of my day to do other things plus we beat most of the heat this way. We are still getting temps in the 90's.

Nuts - maybe, but it is for a good cause! Now I know I can do 20 miles at a good pace, so when I'm doing the event I know I will be able to do three days of it at a slower pace. No need to hurry into base camp just to sit around and have EVERY muscle tighten up on me
