A co-worker asked me if I was pregnant today...

Talk about a wake up call. I really need to get on the treadmill. Unless she knows something I don't know...hmmm!

I work M-F but I'm too pooped to go work out at night. Temperatures are dropping here. Would it be wierd for me to go to the club in jeans and a t-shirt then walk on the treadmill for 30-45 minutes, change into a nice sweater and nicer shoes then head to work. There is a bathroom but no locker room. (One of those no-frills 24 hr clubs.) Do I have to break into a sweat to get the benefits of walking?

Just trying to get creative here. It was a bit embarassing to be asked if I was "pregers" but I think it was more embarassing for her. (we are trying I just haven't broadcast it)
Are their any walkers out there with advise?

LOL, i like desert mom's idea!!

Seriously though, i am sorry your coworker said that. That would be so embarrassing and humiliating to be asked that when you are not pregnant. I myself have learned a long time ago to never ask a woman if she is pregnant or ask a pregnant looking woman when she is due,, i did that once and she said she had the baby 2 months prior, i felt SO bad, just seeing the shock and hurt on her face.So now i never ask.Sorry i have no great advice, other than walking during your lunch hour or maybe a couple of nights a week after work?

I don't see a problem with going and walking in jeans and sneakers, however, I think sweats might be a bit more comfortable. As for breaking a sweat, I would start out walking at an easy pace and as that becomes comfortable pick up the pack a bit. I rarely sweat when I walk yet can get my heart-rate up enough to see results.

I love the "I'm just fat" line wouldn't that throw someone for a loop. I'm gonna try the walking thing. I read something Micheal Thurman said about walking on the treadmill. He says you will actually burn more fat taking it slow and steady than you would at a faster pace. I've got nothing to lose...or make that about 30 pounds.

About one week after I had my first son via c-section I crawled out of the house to the mall because I could not stay in four walls anymore, I decided to take baby's first pictures, well I was holding him in his carseat when some lady walked up to me and asked when I was due ... well I did look pregnant, but the baby was RIGHT THERE! Talk about stupid people...I thought maybe being in four walls wasn't too bad afterall :D
