I woke up this morning in a funk BIG TIME! I knew something was wrong, when I turned on the TV for confirmation of the election results and started crying. My TOM must be coming because all the negative thoughts are in my head, the tears are forming and I'm feeling overwhelmed & like a failure. I hate this TOM and hate feeling like this.

So what are some ways you help yourself get over this TOM?

I just started realizing in my thirties how much my hormones play with my head. Until then I just thought I was in a huge depression. I think it's healthy you are distinguishing the difference; to me you're a full step ahead of where I was.

When I get "funky" I take my mood outside. I find fresh air and exercise very beneficial (you must have known I was going to say that ). I feel extra special awesome when I work out on the days I didn't want to. I also find that this time of year, when it's fall but almost winter like, people start getting down and preparing for a long winter ahead. Maybe for you, it's time to start making big plans to get into your scrapbooking hobby. Buy a new tool and learn how to use it. Maybe take a class at Michael's or Hobby Lobby or AC Moore's and learn to be creative in a whole other way. Have an outlet that will spark positive results!

Hang in there girl.....it will pass in 4-5 days! ((HUGS))

Buy a Piniata and stuff it with chocolate. Then go outside and beat it to death, just whack the crap out of it. Then enjoy the chocolate! If that doesn't work, then watch one of your favorite comedies.
Stay away from sad chick flicks, country music and people that irritate you.

Now i hope that atleast made you smirk just a little?!
Makes you feel any better i just started my TOM and i'm feeling so bloated and frumpy-i hate PMS.

I agree with the crazy hormones. My hormones are affecting me in ways that make me feel like a teenager again and I'm 32! I get very down for a week each month now and, like Christy, thought it was depression at first, especially with everything I've dealt with lately. But, then I saw a pattern and it's those darn hormones!! This is making me fear the down hill to the big M

Fresh air helps me. And a long shower, I mean 30 minutes long, everyone just has to deal with it. I'm going into my week o fun too, I can feel it coming on and I need to make some time for myself asap.

I'm sorry you're feeling yucky

Fresh air.
Working out.
Writing in my journal - every thought, with no censoring whatsoever.
Crying - hey, I like a good cry now and then.
