Question How do you refuel after you workout?

I know different things work for different people, but how do you refuel after you workout? Do you eat a piece of fruit, drink lots of water, eat a complex carb, etc. Or do you just feel so great you don't even think about it?

I am so bad about re-hydrating. This is definitely something I have to get better with. Definitely helps prevent a crash in a couple of hours.

Well today I sucked down a nice big glass of water, and I actually hate water but I know its good for me so I will continue to do so I should clarify I hate sucking down ice water when its cold out!

Depends on my workout I just did. But as I'm driving home from the gym, I'm jugging 16 more ounces of water. When I get home and it is my early day (5:30am workout), I make my breakfast of oats, flaxseed, 1/2 banana, protein powder & a splash of milk. If it is my later day of working out (9am) I have 8oz of Tropicana OJ with protein powder.

After both of these I jug another glass of water.

I usually have a cheese stick or almonds and some carbs. An apple if I'm being good, triscuits or other wheat crackers if not.

I drink water throughout my workout so I'm usually well hydrated by the time I'm through.

.like another poster said...I too drink water during my workout but for some reason I'm still super thirsty once I'm done.

I usually get up at 6am to head out for the gym. So right when I get up I drink about 8 ounces of water with my vitamins and herbs and then eat a gluten free breakfast bar on the way.

Throughout my workout I drink another 8 ounces of water.

On the way home I drink 16 ounces of water.

At home I eat a full breakfast. Usually an omelette with veggies topped with guacamole and salsa over a bed of brown rice. Sometimes leftovers from dinner. And ocassionally a frozen gluten free meal. I am usually STARVING by the time I get home after a workout.

I also usually eat 5-6 times a day and drink another 2-3 16 ounce bottles of water throughout the day on top of a glass of juice or maybe a glass of rootbeer throughout the day.
