I just can't shake this "ugh" feeling I have. Granted, it's an annual January thing, but on top of that, it just seems like I am emotionally drained. I try and stay positive...and try and just focus on good things and keep the bad out, and work it out at the gym, but my head and body just want to stay in bed all day (if you know me, this is NOT my personality at all)

I am hoping when Feb 1st rolls around, this will be a thing of the past, but for now I am just in a slump. It doesn't help, of course, that dh just left for three days....but THAT is besides the point

Ok, enough pity party! Carry on......

How are you all doing? How's your week going? How is the gym in your area doing? I noticed yesterday the crowds were down ALREADY! I was surprised. We'll see how tomorrow looks!

Want to know something that is pissing me off, but for totally NO GOOD reason, and shouldn't be, and I totally support you guys, but inside I'm retarded and stupid and irritated? That I can't join the "lose weight" crew. Not sure why, but I feel "excluded". (Doc told me off - no more weight loss).

How stupid is that? Yeah, I'm screwed up....

Can I be honest and say that I'm more than a little bit worried about you.

You are doing all the right things (eating well, exercising, living a balanced life) and still something is off. I know it's normal for you to get the birthday blues combined with the winter blues. I just think this may be something deeper than 'the blues'.

I also know that in the past you've said your opposed to medication so I'm not suggesting this if it's really not want you want. However, I really, strongly feel that you need to go see your Doctor and at least tell her. She can run some tests on your thyroid, your blood sugar, your iron levels, and just talk to you about possible reasons. You may in fact be depressed. You may find you get temporary relief from your drug of choice; exercise. But within a few hours of the high of the run, it seems that you begin to sink again.

If your Doctor can find no other medical causes and you still are opposed to taking any medication then it might be an idea to talk with a professional (therapist, physiologist,). I agree with the medical field on this one that a combination of low dose anti-depressants combined with talk therapy is best even for low grade depression, even if it's only for a short time.

There may be another cause and you really need to find out what is happening with your body. Please go see your Doctor and just tell her what's been happening. If you can't do it for you, do it for us and for your family. I've been depressed and it sucks. It also seems like the last think you feel like doing is adding something else to your 'to do' list.

If your car were having trouble running, you wouldn't hesitate to take it into the shop. This is your body. It needs to be checked out. Walking into that office and admitting it may be one of the most difficult things you do, but you need to do it this week. If you simply can't, and believe me I've been there, call a friend and ask them to take you. I wish we lived closer. I'd be on your doorstep this morning. A dear friend was there when I needed her most. You need someone there for you.

You know you can be honest with me and I appreciate that you care enough to be so bold (in a good way) to say something. That's what caring friends do. ((HUGS))

However, I really do think this is just my way of venting away some mixed emotion. The timing of everything in my life right now is just out of whack: dh left this morning, my "not so friendly friend" comes next week, and it's January is just one big compounded problem for me.

If I can't shake this I will do something about it. I can't stand being this edgy. It really gets me down.

Thanks ((HUGS))

I think Doctors can sometimes have a bad bedside manner and sometimes say things without really thinking them through....so don't take anything they say to heart. Instead turn to people who know and support you and just take initiative and jumpstart your own journey......do it for YOU....no one else. (we're always here and you're always welcome to join us....it's all about the ups and downs...and having the support network you can count on to pick you up and encourage you to go on....)

I'm worried about you too. But keep pushing yourself strong! I know you can get out this funk!
There is a new vitamin out there by Nature Made called Sam-e (What is SAM-e?) - maybe it will help you through this. I have also heard Vit D, Super B & B12 Complexes -- all 3 deficiencies can cause irritability, mood swings, depression, etc (not saying those are you at all).

All is good here with our gym - still seeing the numbers high! I have been able to motivate 2 new people in the past week at the gym. I feel really good about that!

Now to try & stay warm -- all of 9 here today!

I'm on antibiotics for a pesky throat infection I haven't treated in a while.
I'm so not used to taking any prescription meds, that I think my body isn't adapting well to them. I'm tired and I have a little headache going. Ugh! The weather is tres lovely and I don't feel like going outside

No need to be worried people!
I'm just having a down day well month really. Nothing out of the ordinary for this time of year. It happens every year and I am aware of it. Just venting it out there, that's all. Worry about me when I am not aware of how down I am....then we know there really is a problem right?

As for the Sam-e, I am going to have to look into that.
