Has anyone tried them?
Do you have a personal favorite? Favorite flavor?
How much do you pay? Do you know where I can find discounts on them?

I am thinking of adding one to my morning regime.

I am not big on them. I get tummy aches from protein water. It reminded me of a lecture one of my health nut friends gave me on all the high protein stuff and how much harder it is for the body to break down and use. Nuts, an extra egg white in an omelet(only adds 17 calories), yogurt, beans, meats, cheese, and some wraps(I buy Tofuyan brand whole grain basil/tomato(yum!)) are good sources of good protein. I get worried about my weight lifting friends b/c they load themselves up on so much of that stuff when they could get all the protein they need through natural food sources.

I don't mind all supplemental drinks. I do have a slimfast or ovaltine drink when I miss a meal from time to time but that's for a vitamin boost.

We get them from GNC. DH likes the chocolate flavor and I don't really care for them at all. You can get a GNC Gold Card and earn discounts during certain sales. If you drink them, make sure you drink PLENTY of water...more than you would normally. They can cause you to not go potty...if you KWIM.

I prefer to just get a scoop of whey protein powder and add it to a whole fruit smoothie. Not as much protein but much more tasty, IMO, and easier on the ole' tummy.

I ordered some online for DS because he was losing wt during football season. I discussed them with our pediatrician at his annual visit during Christmas break. He said he preferred that people get their protein just through diet, but that if DS wanted to add some protein shakes that it was VERY important to make sure he stayed well hydrated.

I've tried lots of brands but I just can't stand the taste. My dh is a weightlifter and drinks one to two a day in addition to other supplements. He buys the powder from walmart or gnc and mixes it with milk. He likes the chocolate the best.

I just use whey protein (I like EAS brand). I put 1 scoop in everything! Some examples ~ 1 scoop in my morning oats, 1 scoop with oj; 1 scoop with frozen fruit to make a smoothie.
I tend to stick to just vanilla since it is so universal.
It is a great way to add more protein to your day.

I don't use the already pre-made protein shakes because they contain a lot of additives and junk that I don't want in my body.
