Yesterday I was feeling out of sorts (other threads) and part of it I realized was a book I was reading. I picked up a book at the library thinking it would be funny light reading. Well, after few chapters the plot took a weird, funky turn and I got angry at the author. I wanted to read something funny, not depressing. I was in a sour mood for the rest of the day.

Last week hubby woke up to tell me that he had a bad dream where I was really angry at him. All day long he was more grumpy that usual then would say things like, "You were so mean to me in that dream." Uh, it was HIS dream. I wasn't actually mean to him! He was holding it against me.

I know when I was much younger, I got so absorbed into books I took on the personality of certain characters. I must have been impossible to live with - I know some women who purposely read cheap romance novels because that improves their love life.

I can only remember one book that ever put me in a bad mood. It was "Bastard Out of Carolina" , the mother in that book made me so mad!

As for dreams. If i have a dream about dh cheating on me or flirting with someone he knows i don't like, i get really angry in my dream and usually wake up in a bad mood.

Things like that definitly affect my mood.

I remember reading one of the books by Diana Gabaldon (about Claire and James Fraser) and something James did something that pissed me off so much (some aspects of Jamie remind me of my husband which is why I was so pissed off) that I was in such a foul mood for a couple of days! I mean, really, how could he??

Dreams are the same; I had a weird freaky dream where this man in my dream had such an aura of absolute fear eminatting from him that I had a hard time shaking that feeling of utter fear all day. It was really spooky; the best way to explain it is, this guy felt like death

After reading The Kite Runner I just felt sick inside. I think it's b/c of my 6 year old son. I couldn't seperate my thoughts about the abuse of the boys in the book with thoughts about my own DS. I remember being horrified that my MIL said it was a great book and I should read it.
