Hi Ladies,
I am just checking in, I tend to lurk here, and wanted to post and say Hi!
life has been crazy and I ma trying to stick to working out. I started the c25k and it went well, and then I stopped and then started again, yesterday I walked/ran 2 miles in 30 minutes, I need to run/walk 3 miles in the same time to be anywhere near the 5K race times.
I try to jog/run at 4.2-4.5mph and walk 3.0-3.5mph, it is just more easier for me to do it on the treadmill. I really see the results not in the speed i am doing, but in the recovery time, it takes me less time to recover between each run and I am not gasping while i am running either.
As for eating, I am now on oatmeal with wierd and ownderful topping every morning and iced coffee(my vice!) and lunch is lean cuisines, greek yogurt, snacks are Larabars (they are awesome, you should all try them and so healthy!) and Clif bars (also great!) and crackers, peanut butter, almond butter. I have gone all healthy and even tried soymilk in my oatmeal and it tastes great!
anyway, I just wanted to checkin and get soem positive reinforcement that I am on the right track, the weight is not moving, but my hips are shrinking and I am feeling muscles where I never had them, my calves have shrunk!!. I also noticed when I swing my arms they are swinging a few inches away from my hips, where my old hips where! I have to keep moving my arms closer to me!!
I hope everybody else is doing well, just read about christy's 8 mile run, god i would love to run like that!

Hey Rakshanda. You're on fire! We have missed you around here. I think it sounds like you are doing everything perfectly. Way to go on the food overhaul! Check in more often.

If you really want to drop pounds, you know what I am going to tell you. Write it down and count your calories! Boring but foolproof. But it sounds like inches are melting off of you. That is awesome. Oh and iced coffee is my all time favorite part of my day. I love it too!

First of all way to go. I'm also trying to get up there with the miles and my time. I'm not sure if you know or not, but with the recent recall with all the peanut butter products, the Cliff bars you mentioned have been recalled. My DH was actually eating these well (we had gotton them from Costco), and he actually just got a text on his phone that they were recalled.

Way to go!! You are doing great. How many days a week are you doing the treadmill? How long has it taken you to feel the inches lost and the firmness? You are an inspiration to me. I have a hard time sticking to anything. But, I am determined to lose the flab before summer rolls around this year. I need to do it for me. I am also a treadmill person, so just curious as to what you are doing to notice the difference. Keep up the great work!

Hi Ladies
well, I guess i asked for it by tooting my own horn! I am now sick with a cold! sniffling and sneezing all over the place! no workout for me till I feel better.
Thanks for all your cheers of support, it really helps.
Momofoneboy: try the c25k, google it and you will find a workout where you are walking more than running, but gradually you will be running more. That has really helped and being very strict about it, I have to workout and i have to do it.
I also try to mix it up a bit, by doing weights as well, I really like Jari Love which is hig lintensity, low weights, so you will never get "big" big.

Way to go Rakshanda!
I have done an eating over haul..if you will. I have been SODA FREE since Oct. 1st.

This was a HUGE,HUGE deal for me. I lived on Dr.Peppers.
I have changed my eating habits from horrible to much better.
My workout routine is 5-6 days a week. I do 40 minutes of cardio..elyptical machine and walk/run on treadmill. I also do 30 minutes of free weights.
I'm feeling much better physically and I hate not being able to go on Sundays but I just can't b/c those days are super busy.

By July I hope to be 25 pounds lighter.
If I keep going at this rate..I know I will see a huge difference...it's just gonna take some time.

Keep up the good work!

Hey. I googled the C25K, printed it out and will give that a shot on the treadmill. I know I just need to stick with something in order to see the results. I hope you get to feeling better!!
