The child I miscarried who I named Isabelle Rose would of been 5 years old today. It seems like a lifetime ago. There isn't a day that goes by I don't think of her even if it is for a moment. I miss her. There is a giraffe in Noahs room my ex mother in law bought for Isabelle when I was pregnant with her. After my miscarriage she kept the few things she bought her. Then when Noah was born she gave the stuff to me and said I thought Noah would want his sisters stuff. I cried and cried. It is really weird to think of it all. It seems like everything went so fast. I was only pregnant for 13 weeks. I wonder what she would of looked like and what her personality would be like. I know she would of been beautiful. I just am still kinda blah about the whole thing.
I still feel a little guilty I know there was nothing I could of done. I know if I didn't lose Isabelle I wouldn't have Noah. I wish I could of had BOTH.

Oh Sheila! You just made me cry. I'm so sorry. I can't even begin to imagine what it must feel like to lose a child. I'm sure one day when Noah understands he will be very happy to have her stuff. In fact, he has his own personal angel. You are in my heart right now.

Funny you should say that about the angel. I believe everyone has a guardian angel and I knew that my angels name is Isabelle and that is why I wanted to name my daughter Isabelle. This was the name I picked before my miscarriage after my angel.

That's beautiful.

I do strongly believe we have them too. My mom died when my son was only ten months old and I believe that she is his. I know that there is no way he can actually remember her, but he always knows her in pictures and will kiss them. And he talks about her like he knows her. I sometimes think he sees her in his dreams or something...

Sheila--I am so sorry for what you feel. I too had a miscarriage early in pregnancy...back in 2005 at 8 weeks. Then I went on to have Rebecca, and then I lost our son Travis 4 months ago when he was born stillborn at 20 weeks. I agree with you completely that the children we lost are our angels. After we lost Travis, Rebecca would look around the room like she was following something with her eyes and once when I asked her what she saw she said "brother"...Now she was not yet 2 at the time and did not know that word. I truly believe that babies who are lost before birth become angels in heaven and look after their families. You and Noah are blessed to have Isabelle as your angel and like MissLucie said no matter what she is still with you and Noah.

That has to be hard - it's hard to wrap my mind around the idea.

A good friend of mine had a baby ten years ago who was born 2 months premature and died a couple of hours after she was born, and she still goes to pieces every year on the baby's birthday. All I know to do for her is wrap my arms around her and let her cry.

Obviously, I can't wrap my arms around you, but I'll hold you in my heart.
