I was running on the treadmill today and first this woman comes and takes the treadmill right next to me. There were several others open and as a rule of thumb, I never take the one next to someone else unless it is a friend or there are no other ones open. Oh well, I let that one go. Well, about 5 minutes later, her friend arrives and goes on the other side of me. Then they start having a conversation over me. Mind you, I am running and they are walking. Also, had the original woman taken another treadmill like she should have, they could have been next to each other and not having to shout over me. It was so distracting and inconsiderate. Maybe they don't take excercising seriously, but I do. They continued chatting for in excess of 15 minutes. They are lucky I wasn't PMSing or I would have told them to take it elsewhere. Ugh.

You are kinder than I would have been. I would have said something to them in a nice way and moved, but that is just me. That annoys me, too, when people seem to feel the need to be right next to you when there are open machines. I have to admit, I do have a favorite bike so maybe that was her favorite treadmill? But to talk over you was downright rude.

UGH! I hate it when people talk all around me when I am working out. When I'm in there, I'm not wanting to fiddle diddle around, I just want to work out!

I probably would have got off and went on another one far away from them...maybe they would've gotten the message. I'm not that confrontational.

That was very rude, I would have been upset too.

I would have asked the second lady if she wanted to trade places with you because their conversation was very distracting to you. Being that you were there first, I think the message would have been clear.
