My fingernails have just started to grow funny - the tip starts to turn down (like it is going to curve over the end of my finger) if I let them get long. At first it was just my index fingers but now it is spreading to my other fingers. This is a relatively new phenomenon.

I googled it and got results that this might be a sign of lung or heart disease. I do have asthma but have had that for a long time. I'm just now switching my arthritis meds to something that is better for my heart and less stress on my liver. However, I still take 5mg of prednisone daily and have for a long time.

The sites also said that B-vitamins might help.

Has anyone else every had this? What did you do?

I have not had it, but I have seen it on others. I didn't know it was something that developed, I had thought that was just the way they had always been. Interesting.

I have always heard, that fingernails, like your eyes, can tell a lot about your overall health. So maybe you are missing an essential vitamin or mineral.

mine turn down at the ends if I let them get a little to long and I know that mine is from typing the more I do it the more they turn down.

My dd's toenails have always done this. I don't know why or what to do about it though.
