I am SO inconsistent when it comes to working out. I'll do great for weeks, and then nothing for weeks. I've been sick on an off, mostly on, since the beginning of the year, so that is a partial excuse. But even when I'm feeling okay, I just came seem to make the time to fit exercise in. Evenings are the only time it works for me, and something else always seems to come up that pushes the treadmill to the side, once again. Why can't I just stick with it?! I get so mad at myself sometimes!

I struggle with this too. I'm not sure if I have any advice, as I haven't completely found the answer myself, but what I'm trying to do is to make my exercise routine as normal and everyday as possible. I try to walk with the family because that is good for them. My DH and I bike together with the kids in back in the cart. I've started biking to work because that is a form of transportation and I like the idea of cutting back on a car saving money and being green all in one!

Weather tends to be a big un-motivator for me. If it's snowy and cold and dark and gloomy I am too!

Also if you don't have friends that are into the same things as you are, it's hard to self motivate. That was my issue a few years ago. I was running with no running partner and having a hard time pushing myself to go further and longer....but now I know a lot of running moms and have my own running partner so it makes a world of difference! Working out should be fun and a little bit of socializing time too!

At least we can struggle with it together! Biking is a great start though, great job! I work 22 miles from home, and have to drop ds off at daycare on the way, so that wouldn't work for me. Hee hee! But I agree that it is best to make exercise routine as normal and everday as possible.. If only I could do that!

You've hit the nail on the head with this reply! Most of the problem has been the weather. This has been a really long and hard winter in WI, and I just could never get outside, never saw any daylight, blah blah. And I don't have a workout partner, unless you count ds. I really don't have many friends, and those that I do have live a ways away from me. So its really hard to get together with them to do anything.

Now that it is warming up some, I'm trying to make a habit of talking a walk with ds as soon as we get home in the evenings. Hopefully I can make it stick!

Can you imagine the legs you would have if you biked to and from work every day!

Hmm, maybe I should rethink that!
