Do you ever feel like the world is happening around you and you are just sitting on the side watching?
I am going through one of those phases right now and it really stinks. I feel like I am bored and completely disconnected. Maybe I have just had to put things on hold for too long. I don't know. Ugh! It's kind of like I am the "place" where everyone (friends and family) goes to rest and then they go back out into their lives to live. KWIM? Or am I just having a pity party today? It's totally possible, so be honest.
Don't get me wrong, I like being a safe place for people; that's not what I am saying.

I feel like that sometimes, Like it's Groundhog Day or something. Same thing every day in and out. However, it doesn't last for long unit something nutso happens and things go upside down for a while. Pretty soon, you won't have time to watch the world go by because you;ll have a little girl to keep you on your toes and no day will ever be the same for you again.

I didn't till dd left home.
Now a lot of times when dh and I get around couples that have school age kids, I feel that way.

I hate that you guys feel that way, but I am sure glad I am not alone. And I am sure you are right...things are surely about to change.
I thought about this a lot today, and I have come to the conclusion that I have just been so wrapped up in our adoption stuff over the past couple of months, that I have mentally checked-out of everything else.
That, combined with the fact that I tend to be more of a listener than a talker, has made it easy for me to feel distanced.
I am sure it is just an emotional tizzy and will soon go away to make room for another sort of tizzy.
Thanks for listening!

I think you are right, you have been totally consumed with adoption details lately (and rightfully so). So, now that everything is set and all you can do is wait, you feel bored and restless. I am so sorry you are feeling that way, but I am sure in a couple of weeks when your precious baby is home, you will be past this stage.
Big hugs to you!!

Sorry you were feeling that way, but no, you are definitely not alone! I have "woe is me" days at least every couple of weeks.
Like you said, you've had so much going on with the adoption that its hard to focus on anything else, including yourself! Not much longer though, and then you'll have your princess. Then you really won't be able to focus on yourself! Hang in there though, and know you're not alone!

I feel like that too sometimes. I have my friends at church, but sometimes I think everyone has a best friend, but me.
My friends from school, I don't get a chance to talk to much, way different lives.
