"Your talent is God's gift to you; what you do with it is your gift to God." -- Leo Buscaglia

Aside from nurturing your family and being a good mom/spouse, do you feel like you're using the talent God gave you to the fullest? Are you in touch with the talents/gifts/abilities that are uniquely your own? Sometimes I feel like I am, but other times I feel like I really don't know what I should be doing with my life.

How "in touch" with your talents are you? Do you feel like you know what you're good at, and how are you using those talents?

I know I am gifted to work with children. I love what I do, but I often feel like I need to go back to working with inner-city kiddos. The timing right now is just not right. I am in a different phase for the time being. We'll see what the future hold for that though.

My talent is talking and socializing, which in God's eye would make me a Messenger so yes, I would say I am a Messenger; just not always preaching his word, but rather everything else!

I think so. I have an affinity for animals. I spent 15 years as a vet tech, and still do animal care for friends and family, as well as having adopted more strays than I can count - even a couple of human strays.
People bring me injured and orphaned animals, both domestic and wild, and I do what I can to help them and either find them homes or release them after they're healed.
Sometimes animals in need just seem to appear at my door on their own - my husband believes they're drawn there because there's a loving, healing vibration that emanates from our home.

No I don't think I am.

Don't get my wrong. I have many wonderful qualities and I use them well. But I have others that I am not using to my full ability.

This is something I am always working on. I am a little lazy, so I know I don't live up to my full potential. Especially in areas I don't always think of as gifts, such as cleaning the house. Other than parenting, I am a piano teacher and a jr. sunday school teacher, both of which give me good opportunities to use my talents.

Yes and no. I want to, but the opportunities haven't exactly been knocking at my door. I do teach piano, but got my Masters in Piano Performance, so playing/accompanying is actually my specialty. Don't get me wrong, I love teaching, but do miss performing.

I've been waiting for a church or school job to open up that would require such skills, but just keep waiting.....and waiting.....

Today I got a book at the library called The Passion Test and it's really good so far. It helps you discover what your passions are, and talks about the difference between passions and goals (your passion is the process; a goal is the outcome). Interesting stuff!

Sounds like an interesting book. I will keep my eye out for it since I don't know what my God gifts are. I'm in the search of it and hopefully I find it one day.
