I've had an elliptical, recumbent bike and treadmill. I killed the bike and elliptical, meaning I wore out the bearings They were in the $400 range and just didn't hold up.

I prefer the treadmill for running. By far, running burns the most calories, gives me the best workout and builds endurance.

I have a Sole treadmill and love it! I bought it after reading all the consumer reports. It was ranked #1 for stability, durability, price point, features, etc.

When we sold the gym, we kept a couple of the treadmills (and a few other things ) and just recently sold them. If I had known everyone here wanted a treadmill, I would have posted an ad for them on MommySavers!

Elliptical! I'm not a runner, so i don't need a treadmill and the elliptical is so much better for my joints.

I find the treadmill more universal than the elliptical. You can walk or run on the treadmill and you can vary your speed and incline. Not to mention you can find space saver models that really help with storing it when it's not in use!

I've been looking in the stores at treadmills. Cheaper the price cheaper they look.
Christy can I ask how much you paid for yours? Yours looks like a nice one.

I have both elliptical and a treadmil... I can not use the treadmill beacuse of my plantarsfacitis... I just keep re injuring my foot no matter what speed I go on it....
My elliptical is from Sears. It was $400 on sale as some one sated you can't do much with it. Mine has 3 difrent stride lengths. The smaller one is for burn, toneing thighs and butt and as you increase the stride it is more like sprinting the whole time you are on it. It depends on what elliptical you get.

Mine is like this one
ProForm 650 T Elliptical - PFEL75807 at Sears.com
