Sometimes we just need a little reminder as to why we need to work out and stay in shape. With the holidays coming up I am going to be harassing the heck out of you all to battle that bulge and stay ahead of the game.

Christy, A brand new YMCA has opened by me, I am so excited. Will be joining on Wednesday as its their open house and a no joiner fee day! Cant wait! I had been excersizing at home but with the kids its hard to find a free moment. Yes I tried getting up before them but they would wake up as well! I went to Curves after 2nd child and I lost 43 lbs have started to slowly put it on again It had just stopped working for me I think you have to mix it up a bit! Are your kids able to do a lot there? I want to use it for the whole family! Thanks for any input!

Does your Y offer child care? That has been a God send for me. I take the boys and we go for an hour and a half and I feel so much better knowing they are right there, cared for and lovin' it!

Yes and the woman I babysit for said it is an awesome child care room! Of course its hard to talk with 5 boys around so I was unable to get any detail!

Some more reasons to work out:

Increase bone density
Maintain range of motion and flexibilty as we age
Build good exercise habits to take with us in old age to maintain our independance and dignity
Can help regulate hormones in our body (which is part of why it has an effect on depression, etc.)
It's a great way to clean out our systems and decrease atrophy of our muscles
Has an insulin like effect for Type 2 diabetics
My favorite: Helps set a good example for our children as they learn that exercise is a part of life and everyone should do it
