How do you know if you are suffering from depression or just having a bad day/week/month?

I think one big sign to look for is that if you don't get enjoyment out of things you usually do.

Feeling hopeless
Problems sleeping or sleeping too much
Crying for no reason

If it's just a bad day, these feelings will go away but if they persist I would think it's depression.

When my dh had depression he went through alot of things but some of the main ones were not sleeping, feeling very confused (almost like his thoughts would never stop) and just a serious feeling of unhappiness. Nothing made him smile......I strongly urge that if you think you have depression to see your doctor. My dh waited for about a month and half after his first signs of depression and he slowly became severely depressed.

If you have any questions feel free to PM me I will be happy to answer them to the best of my ability, but I would strongly urge you to get help......

I will be praying for you and your family this a hard thing to go through

Also, looks like you have a baby too. Could it be postpartum depression? I agree with the other poster about the signs of depression.
There are several types of depression too, situational depression, somethings occured that is causing you to be depressed, a death, overwhelming stress, etc. Sometimes its out and out depression, chemicals can be out of whack. Sometimes its PMS for 10 days to a week before your period, or postpartum depression, which can last a long time after childbirth. Seriously think about if you should see your doctor (or whoever it is your asking for) there are medications that can work wonders. And, if your a praying lady, pray, pray, pray.
