Do you have a strategy for not over eating at the Holidays or do you say to heck with it and dig in until you have to un-button your pants?

I just got off the phone with a friend who said she is sticking to her "diet" and will drink lots of water before she heads to her in laws and maybe have a salad before hand so she doesn't over indulge. She has also sworn she will avoid the desserts at all cost.

I laughed.

I am the woman hosting dinner and serving fried turkey and fried green beans among other things! I say as long as you know your limit, why not indulge? I know when to stop...yes it has taken a long time to realize once again what 'full' feels like. But why can't I have that banana pudding as long as I'm not eating a HUGE plateful.....

Your thoughts?

I can't resist chocolate, even if I tried, so I try and have a sample of everything, without over sampling!

I am also very conscious about what I eat and how often I am working out...so the more I eat, the more I have to work it off!!!!

The drinking of water thing is a good idea...I will try that too!

Drinking a glass of water before you eat is a great idea.....1. It ups your daily water intake and 2. it helps you feel fuller so you don't eat as much!
