Ok this might be a bit embarassing (for me) but my system has been screwed up lately. I hate the idea of using laxitives, even when they say they are cramp-free they never are for me. I always end up crampy, sweating and miserable.

Then I read somewhere you can take molasses as a natural laxitive and it worked! Cramp free! Before bed take (eat) one full tablespoon molasses by itself. It might be a little unpleasant, because molasses are strong tasting, but not as bad as laxitives!

The next morning, it will do it's job, cramp and pain free. Simple as that. However, this dosage is for an average sized adult. If you are going to give this to a child, I'd start off with maybe a half TEASPOON.

Hope this helps someone. I know it did me.

Thank you My DH is going through some issues now and this may help him out A LOT.. I hate having to use OTC meds all the time.. who knows what it does to your system? anyway, this may just help him.. so thank you!

Also, his father's system was messed up due to some meds he was on, and he took Senekot (well he took the generic brand of it), a natural laxative, which he said worked really well. Just another idea!

do you not like prunes? I would eat the baby food prunes to get more of it eaten. I can't do molasses b/c of diabetes. prunes are a natural sugar.

Metimucil or fiber con tablets with a big glass of water , take them the night before and by morning you should be good to go (no pun intended!). It's not a laxative but it helps push things thru your system so you can go naturally with no cramping or sudden diahrea.
