Long story, as short as I can make it.

There's a lady (45 and single, great lady) my mom works with. *Her nephew is a real piece of work, on and off drugs, in & out of jail and his girlfriend of many years is much the same. *They have a 5 yo that have totally signed over to adoptive parents, after the courts took her away. *The little girl is thriving now. *They had another baby. *They were co-sleeping and tripped out on Lord knows what and smothered the baby. *Fast forward to child #3. *This little girl is 15 mos old. *She wasn't walking or talking. *The baby's great-aunt (the lady that works with Mom) took the baby in after the parents asked her too. *We took her a crib (that was the first night she had slept in a crib) and people gave her everything she needed to get started with the baby. *Took some adjusting, but the baby is now thriving on a balanced diet, walking and saying a few words. *A truly happy baby now! *

Well, Saturday the mother (such as she is) decided she wanted her baby back and just came & took her. *The cops just stood by & watched. One of them looked right at the aunt and said, "what do you want me to do? *The mother always gets the child." *WTH? *I'd say she gave birth, but I'd never call her a mother! * Anyway, the aunt got temporary custody this morning! *She is off to go find the baby and they HAVE to hand the baby over since she has the papers. *

Please pray she finds the baby and they do give her back peacefully. *She so deserves to live in a stable environment with a loving guardian.

this makes me so sick.....I swear some people should have to be court ordered to be fixed so they can't reproduce....


I will pray for a safe return to this loving Aunt and hope that the courts recognises these idiot folks and gives the aunt full custody...

Thats crazy! I hope your moms friend gets the baby. It kind sounds like what Patchwork went through.

That is so awful! I pray that she gets her back so she can lead a healthy life.

She just found them, in a not so great part of the town. She is waiting on the police to show up before she goes to the door. She took a car that they wouldn't recognize to look for them so they didn't see her coming & take off before the police got there. I'm still waiting to hear back from Mom. Thanks for the thoughts & prayers ladies. Once again, you have truly come through for me. As soon as I told Mom I was posting it, I could hear relief. I will post as soon as I hear more.
