Has anyone seen One Night With the King? I didn't know if I would like it or not, but I loved it. I thought that the actress acted kinda cheesy in the beginning of the movie, but after the first 20 minutes, I was hooked. I picked up my Bible and read the book of Esther after watching it.

I'm so bad. I use New Posts, so didn't notice that this was in the Religion area. When I'd heard of this movie before, I thought it was about Elvis and some groupie tell all!

Can dark get darker?

My husband and I watched it a few weeks ago. I thought it was pretty good...although I really couldn't decide if the King was a strong manly man or a total nerd. I wasn't sure about it at first because there seemed to be so much in the movie that wasn't in the actual Bible story, but I looked up the book of Esther in a concordance the next day and found that most of the things I had questioned in the movie actually had some historical context (although there isn't any real proof that Haman was a direct descendent of King Agag - it's actually thought that he was from the province of Agag and therefore called an Agagite)...which I thought was impressive. All in all, I thought it was an enjoyable two hour movie experience.

how ironic...this movie is sitting on my table I just rented it today and am planning to watch it tonight....I'll be back later to let ya know what I thought.

also,must be fairly new I rented it off the new release wall.

my sister really liked this movie. today i watched an OLD movie about esther and the king--esther was played by a very young joan collins
