Today's Sermon Was for Those Trying to Keep Up With the Joneses

Our minister today presented a sermon that would be a great entry in Kim's blog about Keeping Up With the Joneses!
He opened with Philippians 4:11-13. Remember this is Paul writing a letter to the church at Philippi: "I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through Him who gives me strength." NIV - emphasis mine
The body of his sermon came from the Parable of the Rich Fool in Luke 12:13-21. Jesus told the crowd "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions."
And, he concluded with a challenge to "Quit Comparing Yourself to Others."
