Are you taking Zoloft for anxiety or depression? (Pardon my ignorance...I'm not sure if Zoloft is used to treat anxiety.) I've been on Lexapro 10 mg. for 3 months for anxiety and it's really worked well for me. Lexapro can also be used for depression, if that's what you're being treated for. Lexapro makes me feel normal (whatever the heck normal is ). I don't feel like a zombie.

Good luck. I hope you find something that works for you.

I have tried.....Zoloft, Lexapro, Paxil, Prozac (which worked well, but they like to use it as a LAST alternative since it is the strongest, I guess), and am now on Wellbutrin. I couldn't handle any of the others. I either slept all the dang time or couldn't sleep at all. Wellbutrin doesn't do either...and while I still wonder about how well it is working (cause I do still tear up easily), I know it is definitely better than it used to be!!!

Ember I tried to take Zoloft & it made me very nauseous, & then I kept waking up in the middle of the night like every hour. I would try to eat but I couldn't eat very much at all because I was so nauseous. I think I was on it about 2 weeks but I had to get off of it, because I had lost almost 12 lbs & just couldn't function & take care of myself & my family, and that was the reason why that I started taking it. I didn't have the Zombie effect but what I was experiencing was enough. I then switched to Lexapro & I have not had any problems with it at all. I started taking it because I was very anxious & felt like I couldn't function by myself with the kids. It has worked well for me. Definitely talk to your doctor about it. You have been on the Zoloft long enough that it should be in your system now & you should not be having any side effects now, so maybe it's not the medicine for you. Keep us posted! Good luck!!!

That is exactly why I started it! My irritability got worse when I was pregnant with my 2nd one & after he was born I just had that overwhelming feeling that I couldn't keep it together & I am a control person!

I think it's working for me, but I'm on the Generic...
I did have some trouble like you are describing at first, but I switched from taking it in the morning to right before bed & it made a big difference.

Boy do I wish it was making me lose weight though (although I know that wasn't pleasant for you Stacey...)!

I have never taken Zoloft. I have taken Prozac, Celexa, Wellbutrin, Paxil, Buspar, Serzone, Trazadone and Xanax. I currently take Prozac and Xanax. Mine is for depression. I think you should not be feeling like a zombie. But that is just my opinion.

I have taken all of these as well, I havePost tramatic stress disorder, from my EX,I was having bad panic attacks. I did not like the Prozac.
I am now on Paxil, Its working fine now but with any of them it takes a good 6 to 8 weeks to get level in your system before you will start feeling better. If you are feeling like a zombe, Talk to your doctor, maybe the dose is too strong for you.
Brightest Blessings to ALL.
